Lockdown ordered at Stony Mountain prison after inmate assaulted

CTV News has learned an inmate was severely assaulted in the recreation hall at Stony Mountain Institution Monday night.

CTV News has learned an inmate was severely assaulted in the recreation hall at Stony Mountain Institution Monday night.

The prison was put into lockdown as a result.

The inmate had been dragged back to his cell after the assault and that's where corrections officers found him.

Staff members were searching the prison for weapons Tuesday.
