Plenty of get-together options for Family Day

A day off for most means an extra bit of family time on Monday; exactly the reason why Family Day was created.
For five years Winterlude has been able extended to a Monday finish.
"Winterlude used to end on a Sunday, but Ontario's Family Day has added an extra bonus day of Winterlude which is fantastic," said Denise LeBlanc of the NCC.
That added day makes the final weekend of the annual festival a popular one with tourists.
"We love it, we have a chance to come out with the family and do the ice slides," said Toronto's Michelle Spencer.
"Hopefully the (Rideau Canal) will be open and we can skate," said Michael Spencer, referring to his kids. "That's what we're planning on doing tomorrow."
Whether or not the canal is open, there is a free event at the National Arts Centre to keep families entertained.
"It's a really dynamic event that's meant to explore activity across the board," said Karen Gilodo. "We'll have hip-hop dance workshops, theatre workshops, arts and crafts and button making."
Some parents said they might go to Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson's skate at the Rink of Dreams, while more said they'd take the chance to see a movie.
Others said they'd be taking the day off as a rare chance to do nothing.
"Tomorrow we're not really doing anything, we're just spending the day together as family," said Lindsey Quennell. "It's more today we're doing stuff, because we're having the winter carnival here so we though it would be fun to bring the little one."
