Valentine's Day may be just around the corner, but there seems to be news of celebrity divorce everywhere, the most recent shocker being Russell Brand and Katy Perry's split. Though there have been some amicable break-ups, most couples have had to dig deep in their pockets after nasty divorces that have ended in huge financial losses. Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries
Settlement: Tabloids speculate $6 million
Year: 2011
Thought to be the highest-paid reality star on U.S. television, Kardashian reportedly offered Humphries a financial settlement in order to complete their divorce as soon as possible, but Humphries recently revealed he is not interested in any of the fortune. -
Janet Jackson, Rene Elizondo
Settlement: $10 million
Year: 2003
The couple kept their relationship hidden, but were together for more than 13 years. Their allegedly incessant arguments over finances led them to calling it quits. Elizondo was awarded a settlement after claiming he was forced into signing a prenuptial agreement. -
Jennifer Lopez, Chris Judd
Settlement: $14 million
Year: 2002
Lopez met the backup dancer and choreographer on the set of her music video 'Love Don't Cost a Thing.' The two were married eight months before calling it quits. Judd walked away with an impressive portion of her fortune. -

It was announced this week that Brand doesn't want any of estranged wife Perry's money even though he is entitled to half her $44 million fortune in their divorce, as the two did not sign a prenuptial agreement. The British funnyman filed for divorce after just 14 months of marriage. -

Settlement: $275,000 plus $3,700 a month in child support
Year: 2008
Considered one of the nastiest celebrity splits of all time, Heche and Laffoon were willing to sling dirt to any interested media outlet, and they battled over the ownership of everything from yoga mats to homes. In the end, Heche had to give up the cash. -

Settlement: $627,000 plus half the residuals for Private Practice episodes Walsh appeared in while they were married

At the time of their marriage, Federline's occupation was listed as 'pizza delivery boy and dancer.' At the time of their divorce, Spears was probably used to paying her then husband lump sums of cash. She reportedly even paid for her own five-carat engagement ring. -

Jerry Hall divorced the Rolling Stones frontman after nine years of marriage, citing 'adultery with an unnamed woman' as grounds. The couple had four children together. -

Real estate mogul Donald Trump and his first wife Ivana divorced after 15 years of marriage. Towards the end, rumours began circulating that Donald was having an affair with a former beauty queen. Considered Britain's most expensive celebrity divorce, the Beatles star and model split after four years of marriage. Mills initially hoped to gain $250 million of McCartney's fortune, which she claimed totalled $1.6 billion. -

Year: 2000
When the Wall Street star divorced his first wife Diandra, she walked away with a sizeable sum of his fortune. But 11 years later, she's still trying to get more of his money. This past June, a judge denied her a portion of her ex-husband's Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps earnings. -

The English singer had to shell out a huge sum of money to his third wife Orianne Cevey. That divorce put Collins' divorce settlement total at $84 million. -

The Titanic director and The Terminator actress were married for two years before their divorce, after which Hamilton cited 'irreconcilable differences'. Later, she explained she had felt abandoned by Cameron while he was working on Titanic. Her hefty settlement likely helped heal some wounds. -
