Police have issued a public warning about a violent offender that was recently released from jail.
Officials say Russell Gunville, 48, who was recently completed a 15-year sentence for sexual assault and uttering threats, poses a risk of significant harm to the community, especially to females involved in the sex trade business.
"He's had a very poor release record previously. This is his third sexual offence. And until he proves himself in the community we consider himself to be a danger," said Det. Dave Morrissey with the Edmonton Police Service.
Gunville is described as:
- 6'2" tall,
- 225 pounds with black hair and brown eyes
- He also has numerous tattoos
Gunville will be residing in the Edmonton area and will be monitored by Edmonton police.
