Twenty-five years have passed since the Man in Motion embarked on a World tour to share his dream of creating an accessible and inclusive world.

Rick Hansen lost the use of his legs when he was just 15 after he and a friend were thrown from the back of a pickup truck on their way home from a fishing trip. He suffered a spinal cord injury and was left paralyzed from the waist down.

Hansen took his dream on the road and at the age of 27, set out on an historic journey to change the way the world views people with disabilities.

Hansen wheeled his way through 34 countries across 40,000 kilometres and raised $26 million.

Now after 25 years, Hansen is retracing the 12,000 kilometre Canadian segment of the tour with help from thousands of Canadians.

The journey began in Cape Spear, Newfoundland last August and has finally arrived in Alberta.

Hansen will join the relay team in Calgary from February 23 to 27 and will participate in a number of events.
