The Calgary woman who was badly beaten at a Mexican resort is out of hospital.

Sheila Nabb is now recovering at home in the care of her family and close friends.

Nabb's family says she still has a long recovery ahead of her and will likely require additional surgeries.

Sheila Nabb was attacked in a five star hotel in Mazatlan, Mexico, and left in an elevator.

Nabb suffered fractures to every bone in her face and required reconstructive surgery to repair the damage.

Nabb's family says the outpouring of support for the popular 37-year-old office manager is appreciated.

The family released a statement on Tuesday.

"Sheila has been released from the hospital and is currently being cared for by her family with the help of some very close and great friends. She still has a lengthy recovery as well as most likely other surgeries in her future. She and her family remain positive in the outcome of this process as she has been receiving excellent care since she has been back in Calgary. Sheila is also aware of the tremendous support she and our family have received and it warms her heart."
