WESTPORT, N.S. — Crews are looking for a 48-year-old man who was apparently swept away from his friends while scuba diving off southwestern Nova Scotia.

RCMP Sgt. Brigdit Leger says they received a call at about 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday that the man got stuck in a current in Grand Passage, near Westport.

Leger says the man, who has not been identified, was scuba diving for sea urchins with two friends.

The man's friends say they saw him get pulled away.

She says a coast guard cutter, RCMP and a search and rescue helicopter were involved in the operation.
